Heartiest congratulations to Mr. Muhammad Hazim Roslan, Faculty of Management’s Bachelor of Management (Marketing) graduate, who has recently been honoured with the distinguished Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Alumni Award at the 67th Convocation Ceremony.
Hazim’s educational journey was not solely focused on maintaining good grades. He had the opportunity to participate in the “Student Exchange Program for Summer Semester,” which took him to the Czech Republic. The six-month program marked a significant milestone in his academic journey, as it improved his communication skills and provided him with a broader global perspective by exposing him to different cultures.
Hazim was born into a middle-income family in the lively town of Pasir Gudang, Johor. His upbringing instilled in him the values of hard work and perseverance. During his undergraduate degree, he focused on marketing and management studies, driven by his aspiration to become an entrepreneur.
Hazim’s dedication went beyond academics, as he actively participated in various university clubs and societies. He held leadership positions ranging from department head to top management positions, showcasing his leadership skills and earning him consecutive awards in Anugerah Gemilang Mahasiswa (GEMA UTM).
Hazim’s commitment to community service and involvement in NGO work further demonstrated his dedication. He was awarded a medal of appreciation from the Persekutuan Pengakap Malaysia, Daerah Pasir Gudang, for his efforts.
“I am humbled to receive these awards that stand as a testament to the dedication, perseverance, and passion I poured into my academic pursuits,” he said. Hazim also received the Dean’s Award for academic excellence and commitment to continuous learning. This award is a recognition of the countless hours he spent pursuing knowledge, his dedication to achieving goals, and his unwavering support from mentors, professors, and peers.
Hazim was granted a scholarship by Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) to finance his degree. His desire for knowledge led him to participate in various workshops, webinars, and global classroom experiences. He is also a Certified Tableau Desktop Specialist. Hazim’s outstanding performance during his internship at the prestigious oilfield services company SLB secured him a permanent job offer even before he graduated. This is a clear testament to his capabilities and the impact of his work.
