Kuala Lumpur, 3rd July 2022 –- Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), via the School of Computing, continues to be awarded the Premier Digital Tech Institution (PDTI) status from 2022 until 2025 in conjunction with the Malaysian Digital Economy Industry Appreciation Award and MDEC Silver Jubilee Celebration at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Launched in 2017, PDTI is a joint initiative by Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) to meet industry demand for quality digital talents.
This year, UTM, one of the seven public universities in Malaysia, was awarded the recognition of PDTI, placing UTM as a top institution of higher learning that succeeded in producing high-value graduates in digital technology and research and sustainable industry relations.
The Vice-Chancellor of UTM, Prof. Datuk Ts. Dr Ahmad Fauzi Ismail was present to receive the continuation award in the prestigious event also attended by the Minister of Communications and Multimedia, YB Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima TPr Annuar Haji Musa, Secretary-General, Ministry of Communications and Multimedia, YBhg. Dato’ Sri Haji Mohammad Mentek, Chairman of MDEC, YB Datuk Seri Sr. Hj Md Alwi Hj Che Ahmad and Chief Executive Officer of MDEC, YBrs Ts. Mahadhir Aziz.
