“CULEXC’22, mostly known as the Cultural Exchange 2022” is Kolej Tun Dr Ismail’s top bidder program for the 2021/2022 session. This program focused on the concept of culture. and was organized by the Student Representative Council of Kolej Tun Dr Ismail with the guidance of the Council of Fellows KTDI 2021/2022.

This program was held from 15th May 2022 until 18th June 2022 in a hybrid mode which consisted of online and physical events. For the online event, it was conducted from 15th May to 11th June, where many cultural competitions, Manga workshop and also Cultural sharing session organised virtually. On the other hand, the physical events were held on 17th June and 18th June 2022, where students experienced cultural booths, cultural cooking shows, cultural food fiesta, the closing ceremony as well the prize-giving ceremony for the competitions.

The aim of this program is to promote the uniqueness of cultural heritage across the world while providing opportunities for people to share fresh and interesting experiences from local traditions and vice versa. Not only that, but it also aims to close the cultural gap between international and local students, notably among UTM students.

Besides, as this program involved culture elements, we have collaborated with several UTM organizations. Our collaborators for this program were Kolej Dato’ Onn Jaafar and the UTM International office, through which we experienced students from different cultures and various countries who joined together with us to this program which made this even more fun and merrier. At the same time, we also had a few sponsorships from McDonald’s, Printicious, and many more.

The Cultural Exchange 2022 is designed to foster respect and admiration for diverse cultures while strengthening cultural ties among UTM students’ traditional and modern cultural abilities such as dance, costume, and food. Individuals must comprehend one other’s views and habits when interacting for partnerships to last. This program also emphasizes the necessity of exchanging ideas and knowledge about Malaysia. UTM students may create new networks and learn how to converse and connect with people from diverse cultures. The Cultural Exchange 2022 program also supports overseas students in transitioning to and learning about new settings in Malaysia.

This programme is able to promote cultural tolerance and understanding while also enhancing relationships. We also assure that by the end of this program, more individuals learn to work and interact more confidently with people from different cultures, the more they will understand each other’s cultures, leading to a rise in international friendship and goodwill.

We would like to thank and appreciate all the crews, participants, guests and the Principal of Kolej Tun Dr Ismail as well as our VIP for making this program happen successfully. We are truly grateful for everyone’s time for joining our program and all the cooperation given in making this program more exciting and happening all day long.
