WORK FROM HOME (WFH) IMPLEMENTATION

EFFECTIVE 1 NOVEMBER 2020 UNTIL 14 NOVEMBER 2020

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) is very concerned about the recent development regarding COVID-19 and views the increasing number of positive cases in Malaysia seriously.

Referring to the announcement made by the Ministry of Health on 29 October 2020 which had listed Johor Bahru as the red zone (dangerous) for COCID-19, the University management has decided that all services except those declared as essential services, have to be performed from home, i.e. Work From Home (WFH) effective 1 November 2020 until 14 November 2020. This directive applies to UTM Johor Bahru campus only, and staff in UTM Kuala Lumpur are required to refer to UTM Kuala Lumpur Administrative Circular No.1/2020.

All staff are reminded to always abide by the WFH rules and regulations as specified by the Public Service Department (JPA).

Based on the present situation, the number of staff allowed to WFH has been increased from 25% to 75%. However, it depends on the current situation as well as by the discretion of the Head of the Department as approved by the University. All staff need to record their working hours from home via GPS Check-In/Out available on UTMSmart application. Failure to do so is an offence and strict action can be taken as stipulated in the rules and regulation of the university.

Staff who are involved with essential services must follow the Guideline for Entering and Exiting Campus and UTM community members are required to always follow the rules and regulations and guidelines issued by the National Security Council and Ministry of Health.
