On 4 August 2019, Applied Mechanics Research & Consultancy Group (AMRCG) dan Advanced Manufacturing Research Group (AMRG), School of Mechanical Engineering (SKM), UTM Johor Bahru has successfully conducted a seminar  on Introduction Of Plasma Technology For Mushroom Cultivation at the Seminar Room C23, SKM. The talk consisted of Introduction to Plasma Technology for Agriculture Product (Dr. Norizah Hj Redzuan), Grey Oyster Mushroom Cultivation (Mr. Mohd Fauzi Abd. Rahman) and Plasma Treatment Research for Oyster Mushroom (P.M. Dr Norhayati Ahmad). All speakers had made significant contribution to the local stakeholders and vulnerable communities by promoting plasma technology into practice and translating lab works to the mushroom industry.

Miss Rozita Hatta from Tenang Agro, as an invited speaker, conducted  the practical session of Mushrooms cultivation. She is also a committee member of Malaysian Mushroom Research Association which provides many information related to mushroom culture techniques and other problems associated with mushroom industry.

A total of 60 participants featuring UTM staff, mushroom growers and public community participated actively in this seminar. The objectives of the seminar are to introduce a novel plasma technology for mushroom cultivation, to promote mushroom as a health food to the general public and to grow mushroom as a hobby. Many entrepreneurs participated in this seminar to showcase their mushroom related products and activities such as fresh mushroom, mushroom cultivation equipment, mushroom substrate bag, etc).
