Three of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) academics and researchers were being elected as the Co-Chairs of the Young Scientist Network-Academy of Science Malaysia (YSN-ASM) 2019 recently.
Besides, one of the researchers from UTM was also appointed as a new member for YSN-ASM which was Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Athif Mohd. Faudzi.
The elected EXCO members were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatin Aliah Phang Abdullah from School of Education, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Dr. Mohd. Bakri Bakar from Faculty of Science and Dr. Jaysuman Pusppanathan from School of Biomedical Engineering and Health Sciences, Faculty of Engineering.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatin Aliah was elected as Co-Chair (Science Education Working Group) while Dr. Bakri was elected as Co-Chair (International Networking Working Group) and Dr. Jaysuman was elected as Co-Chair (Science Communication Working Group).
YSN-ASM is a platform to gather enthusiastic and excellent young scientists of the country to create new opportunities for better solutions to both national and international challenges. It represents the voice of young Malaysian scientists on issues at different levels to ensure scientific progress and sustainability of the country.
The membership of YSN-ASM is based on ASM’s Top Research Scientists Malaysia (TRSM) criteria to ensure that the members are not only excellent in their field of study but also passionate to contribute to the society and collaborate with scientists from diverse background.
