UTM PHD Research Student awarded Chartered Construction Manager Title from Chartered Institute of Building, UK

Mr Mohammed Hamza, a Masters Alumni of UTM and a PHD Research Candidate from Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia currently in his 5th semester received the Chartered Construction Manager Title from Chartered Institute of Building, United Kingdom in an Official Graduation Ceremony held at The Clothworkers’ Hall, Dunster Court, Mincing Lane, London.

The title award was presented by Chris Blythe, Chief Executive Officer of Chartered Institute of Building, UK. With this award, Mr Mohammed Hamza becomes the first Mozambican National to receive this recognition in history. He is also the 2nd youngest in the world to receive this title.

This award is a reflection of UTM Student’s capabilities and is a symbol of excellence for Faculty of Civil Engineering which continues to produce Civil Engineer’s who meet world class standards and are able to stand shoulder to shoulder with International Construction Leaders.

The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), is a worldwide professional body that represents construction and property professionals who work within the built environment. Chartered members may use the designation MCIOB (Member) FCIOB (Fellow) and can be assigned as Chartered Builders or Chartered Construction Managers once they have demonstrated the required professional competence.
