Department of Landscape Architecture staff visited the Faculty of Urban Life Studies at Tokyo City University (TCU), Todoroki in Tokyo from 16 to 18 October 2017. This is an academic visit and future research collaboration stipulated in the MOU between UTM and TCU dated 12 January 2016.
First meeting at TCU Campus (16 October 2017): An Lecture input of Denken system delivered by Dr. Shin Nakajima and site visit to Kawagoe guided by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kei Saito.
2nd day (17 October 2017): Visit to Kamakura Ancient city hosted by Professor Dr. Kazuhide Kawaguchi (Dean of Faculty of Urban Life Studies, TCU) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kei Saito.
Professor Dr. Kazuhide Kawaguchi explained the history and heritage townscape preservation in Kamakura.
Kamakura City Council provided input lecturer : (i) city planning in Kamakura; and (ii) Urban Design of Kamakura: preservation of historic and scenic beauty of Kamakura historic city.

3rd day (18 October 2017): Open lecture 1 by Dr. Zanariah Jasmani: Introduction to Malaysia, Johor Bahru, UTM, and Department of Landscape Architecture, FAB to first year Japanese students in TCU.

Mr. Wan Yusryzal explained all landscape studios, design stages and project output from each studio.
