KUALA LUMPUR, October 16, 2017 – After seven (7) years of friendship, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia has finally signed an agreement with Qatar University, State of Qatar. The agreement document was exchanged in front of the MINISTER OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND INDUSTRY, MALAYSIA , YB DATO’ SRI MUSTAPA MOHAMED and the MINISTER OF ECONOMY AND COMMERCE OF THE STATE OF QATAR, H.E. SHEIKH AHMED BIN JASSIM BIN MOHAMMED AL THANI at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with the Qatar-Malaysia Economic Forum.

The partnership between UTM and Qatar University allows the two universities to exchange of information relating to their activities in teaching and research in fields of mutual interest, promote joint research projects and joint courses of study, endeavour to develop and implement a programme of research, personnel or student exchanges and exchange publications, reports or academic material and information within duration of five (5) years of the agreement.

UTM was represented by Prof. Datuk Dr. Ahmad Fauzi Ismail, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & International) who is also working with Qatar University on a research project.
