Melaka, 9th December 2015 – Building on the rapid and continuous growth of ICT, the Information & Service Systems Innovation Research Group (ISSIRG) and Information Systems Department of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in collaboration with the Malaysia Association for Information Systems Chapter (MyAIS) have jointly organised the 4th International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems – 2015 (ICRIIS’15).
This fourth ICRIIS Conference is seen as an excellent platform for institutions of higher education to share ideas pertaining to research and innovation in the filed of Information Systems and ICT.
MyAIS President, Prof Dr Rose Alinda Alias revealed that 260 papers were submitted to the conference, involving a wide selection of topics in Information Systems and ICT, such as risk, governance and compliance, education and learning, social and human behavior and social innovation.
Prof. Dr Rose Alinda said that selected papers will be published as a point of reference to be applied for the betterment of the community, thereby improving the quality of life. She stressed that, “Any study conducted should have an impact on society, industry and education”.
She further added that, “Findings of these research studies should act as solutions in solving challenges faced by the community through technological progress, particularly in rural areas”.
Prof. Dr. Rose Alinda believes that product innovation generated by graduates especially those developed through the MSc Information Technology Entrepreneurship Programme like the one offered at UTM should be commercialized for the benefit of the community and economic growth.
The ICRIIS’15 opening ceremony was officiated by Datuk Seri Dr Halim Shafie, Chairman of the Malaysia Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
