JOHOR BAHRU, 30 November 2015 – 40 Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) students have been awarded the UTM Endowment Scholarship for the 2015/2016 academic session.

The scholarship was presented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and Alumni, Prof. Dr. Mohd Ismail Abd. Aziz at a gathering with the 2015/2016 endowment scholarship recipients which took place at the Senate Room, Dewan Sultan Iskandar, Johor Bahru campus.

The UTM Endowment Scholarship Scheme was initiated in 2010, and is available to eligible UTM students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, full-time at UTM. Basic eligibility requirements include passing the Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM) and Matriculation Ministry of Education (MOE) or Foundation Studies in Science of Universiti Malaya (UM) or Foundation Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) with a minimum Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.75.

Priority will also be given to candidates who obtained Grade A in English and Mathematics in the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) and active in co-curricular activities. The sponsorship is worth RM12,000.00 per annum.

UTM made history as the first Public Institutions of Higher Learning (IPTA) in Malaysia to provide its own scholarships.
