UTM Staff Urged to Uphold Trust, Accountability and Integrity

JOHOR BAHRU, August 6, 2015 – All Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) staff members have been urged to reflect introspectively in ensuring that they uphold the trust and responsibilities tasked to them as public servants. Fostering a work culture of accountability and integrity will enable UTM to be propelled to greater heights.
UTM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Ir. Dr. Wahid Omar highlighted these qualities at the ‘Tautan Ukhwah Syawal UTM 2015’ celebration that took place at the Alumni Hall, Johor Bahru campus.
Also at the event were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Internationalization), Prof. Dr. Rose Alinda Alias and Director of the UTM Islamic Centre, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aminudin Ruskam.
“UTM as a learning institution, aims to cultivate a knowledgeable society. Towards this endeavor, UTM staff needs to shoulder their responsibility with integrity, giving due respect for diversity. This could lead to a more productive and efficient workforce,” he said.
‘Tautan Ukhwah Syawal UTM 2015’ celebration was conducted in a festive yet prudent manner, with a budget reduction from RM1500.00 per Centre of Responsibility (PTJ) last year to RM1200.00 this year.
The use of polystyrene is also not practiced in this even,t in line with the concept of Sustainable Campus.
This celebration is one of the many avenues in UTM  which strengthen the bonds of camaraderie and teamwork.
