PUTRAJAYA, 16 January 2015 – A Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) academician and researcher, Dr Siti Hamidah Setapar was selected as one of the twenty six winners of the third and fourth series of the Skim Usahawan Permulaan Bumiputra (SUPERB).
Dr. Siti Hamidah received a winning prize worth RM500, 000.00 from Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak at the Prime Minister Office, Putra Perdana, Putrajaya. Also attended the ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Minister in the Prime Minister Department, Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar.
The SUPERB scheme is RM 100 million grant fund to finance Bumiputra start-ups. Each team of entrepreneurs has to go through a business challenge by pitching their ideas for funding approval.
Winners of this scheme will be offered funds up to RM500, 000.00 per company to develop their ideas into prototypes/proof of concepts and/or to attain commercialization.
Besides funding, SUPERB also offers developmental services and commercialization supports which includes mentorships, training for competency building and possibly further funds from venture capitalists.
Dr Siti Hamidah won this scheme through her product Nature Kiss, a lips moisturizer for women and kids that chemical free, halal and capable to moisturize the dry and dark lips.

The participants under this programme are shortlisted by the Bumiputra Agenda Driving Unit of Prime Minister Department before winners are chosen by a professional panel.
