The Director of UTM Centre of Engineering Education (CEE), Associate Professor Dr. Khairiyah Mohd Yusof, has been elected as one of the 5 executive committee members of the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES) during the federation’s recent annual general meeting.

13 contenders from IFEES member societies vied for the 5 executive member positions.

IFEES aims to establish high quality engineering education in order to ensure a global supply of well-prepared engineering graduates. It also provides the platform for corporate members and engineering education leaders to develop industry-university partnerships across a wide range of activities, contributing towards capacity building.

Dr. Khairiyah recently attended the World Engineering Education Forum (WEEF) in Dubai, where she sat on the evaluation committee to select the winner of the 2014 Airbus-Global Engineering Deans Council (GEDC) Diversity Award, which is given out during WEEF. She was also one of the speakers for the forum on Grand Challenges in Engineering.
