Universiti Teknologi Malaysia International Business School (UTM-IBS) has been ranked second among Malaysian Business Schools by the Webometrics Ranking of World Business Schools.
UTM-IBS Marketing Executive Sufiena Amil said that the increment was driven by two main factors including increased student population and improved on-line entry.
“Currently we have 300 students including 140 which we received for the 2011/2012 academic session new intake,” she said.
The second factor is due to the larger number of visitors who visited the official website of IBS.
“There was a significant increase in online applications since the system was officially launched by the School of Graduate Studies (SPS) last year”, Sufiena added.
The International Business School (IBS) was established in 1997 as a graduate school of management offering management and economic courses.
Formed initially as a Centre of Excellence at UTM International Campus, IBS envisioned to lead the education sector in postgraduate management.
IBS’s main focus on technology management was founded upon UTM’s core strength in science and technology.
Moreover, the establishment of the school fulfills the university’s vision to provide management education and training to engineering students from UTM and other higher learning institutions.
IBS provides MBA in Techno-Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management, Healthcare Management, Executive MBA, short course programmes and consulting services.
