Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, and University of Cordoba, Spain have signed a pioneering general Memorandum of Understanding on April 28, 2011 in the historical city of Cordoba.
Vice Chancellor of UTM, Prof. Ir. Dato Zaini Ujang and Rector of the University of Córdoba, José Manuel Roldán Nogueras signed the MOU on behalf their respective universities in the presence of officials from both universities and Spanish press.
The MOU, which was signed in the Rectorate Building of University of Cordoba, is intended to further strengthen the academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.
Cordoba University is one of the oldest university in Spain which is world renowned for multiculturism and this engagement would provide a rich experience to both staff and students involved in exchange programmes.
In a subsequent press conference, Vice Chancellor Zaini Ujang, Ujang said UTM looks forward to send students to participate in exchange programmes with UCO. At the same time, areas of research collaboration were identified including water, biodiversity and Equine sports research.
Cordoba is also renowned for its magnificent Cordoba Mosque, a heritage building and Madinatul Alzahra, a beautiful town garden and administrative centre from glory days of Islamic Spain..
