Expanding Service Learning with Interdisciplinary Collaboration

The second cycle of service-learning projects involved two courses: Applications Development (AD) and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). Students collaborated with nine stakeholders from five different schools across Klang Valley and four units from MJIIT to develop applications tailored to their specific needs. This cycle of the initiative resulted in eight fully functioning systems and four design prototypes. Year 3 students in the AD course created these fully developed systems using Agile methodology, which included four iterative sprints. Meanwhile, the design prototypes developed in the HCI course employed a User-Centered Design (UCD) approach, emphasizing user experience and interface design.
