UTM strengthens global research ties during visit to Chongqing

CHONGQING, Nov. 29 – Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and the School of Civil Engineering at Chongqing University (CQU) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking the beginning of a promising collaboration. This partnership aims to promote academic exchanges and develop innovative solutions for sustainable development and advanced research. The MoU represents a shared commitment to innovation and international cooperation.

Visit to Chongqing Research Institute of Green and Low-Carbon Energy, Science and Technology

On November 29th, a delegation from UTM, led by Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Rini Asnida Abdullah and Dr. Mohd Nur Asmawisham Alel visited the Chongqing Research Institute of Green and Low-Carbon Energy for an academic exchange. The collaboration aimed to establish partnerships in academic and research initiatives.

The delegation was welcomed by Vice Director He Keqiang and other leaders of the institute. They toured the state-of-the-art facilities, including core experimental equipment, and engaged in discussions about research applications, showing a keen interest in the institute’s advanced infrastructure.

Additionally, the delegation participated in a meeting at the Rock Disaster Monitoring and Control Centre. Discussions focused on key topics such as academic exchanges, research collaborations, and talent development. The session featured notable figures, including Tong Xiaochang, Executive Director; Jiang Qiyun, Vice Director; and Zhang Qianjiang, Chief Engineer, who joined the UTM team via video link.

He Keqiang emphasized the importance of global collaboration in advancing research and innovation. He highlighted the institute’s commitment to geothermal energy and mineral resource exploration, stressing that partnerships like the one with UTM could yield groundbreaking advancements.

Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Rini Asnida shared insights into UTM’s capabilities, including seismic monitoring and the university’s unique resources. The teams identified potential areas for cooperation and expressed optimism about achieving future milestones through mutual learning and innovation. This visit underscores the commitment of both institutions to knowledge sharing and technological progress, paving the way for shared growth and development.

Unlocking International Potential: UTM delegation enhances collaboration with CVC

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Izni Syahrizal Ibrahim and Dr. Afikah Rahim from UTM later visited Chongqing Vocational College (CVC) of Information Technology as part of a professional engagement to strengthen international collaboration in education and research. The delegation was warmly welcomed by the President and Vice Presidents of CVC, with discussions emphasizing mutual cooperation and opportunities for academic exchange.

The visit showcased the institution’s commitment to providing quality resources and facilities for its programs, highlighted by its affordability and strategic alignment with global academic standards.

This initiative aligns with UTM’s goals of expanding its international partnerships and fostering global academic integration through meaningful collaborations.
