As the Erasmus+ National Focal Point (ENFP) of Malaysia, I, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Ariffin Abu Hassan, had the privilege of attending the NEO-ICP-ENFP Meeting 2024 held in Brussels, Belgium, from January 23-25 earlier this year. This gathering brought together around 180 representatives from more than 110 countries, including National Erasmus+ Offices (NEOs), International Contact Points (ICPs), and ENFPs.
During the meeting, we engaged in insightful discussions and received updates on the Erasmus+ program and its 2024 Call for Proposals. We gained valuable insights into the results and trends of the 2023 Erasmus+ Selection for each region and shared practical experiences on Mobility and Cooperation Actions such as International Credit Mobility (ICM), Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE), Erasmus Mundus, and Jean Monnet.
Through active participation in group discussions, we contributed to identifying challenges, best practices, and recommendations for enhancing the implementation of Erasmus+ Key Actions. This collaboration fostered valuable connections with new partners, facilitated discussions on potential project ideas between Malaysian educational institutions, and provided a platform to address current needs and challenges in our educational landscape.
The meeting also presented an excellent opportunity to explore mechanisms for promoting the Erasmus+ program within Malaysia. We exchanged tips and good practices with experienced partners, ensuring that the program’s benefits and opportunities are widely disseminated throughout our country. As the ENFP for Malaysia, we remain committed to supporting the implementation of the program and fostering internationalization within our higher education sector.
