Professor Fahrul Huyop Receives Senior Fellowship (UNISERF) Award

Bali, Indonesia, 11 October 2023: Professor Fahrul Huyop, a distinguished academic from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), has been selected from a highly competitive pool of 24 applicants comprising renowned scientists from across the globe. These candidates were vying for prestigious research grants offered by the esteemed University of Udayana (UNUD).

Professor Fahrul’s selection as a recipient of the “Udayana University Senior Fellowship” (UNISERF) highlights the exceptional opportunities that UNUD extends to global research scientists. These opportunities align with the university’s vision of advancing research and community engagement, aimed at transforming UNUD into World Class University status. This prestigious fellowship also offers substantial advantages to UTM, enabling the enhancement of its research portfolio and the facilitation of professional development through a wealth of international networking prospects. The UNISERF program spans six months, with activities commencing at the end of June and continuing through to December 31st, 2023.

During his tenure at UNUD, Professor Fahrul has been entrusted with a significant responsibility — the development of a comprehensive database within his area of expertise. His primary focus is on the domains of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, with a particular emphasis on Honey Bee Profiling. This research project not only enriches Professor Fahrul’s academic pursuits but also contributes significantly to the scientific understanding of honey bees and their critical role in the ecosystem. Professor Fahrul’s active engagement with UNUD dates back to 2016, marking the initiation of a mutually beneficial academic exchange. Over the years, he has successfully organized two international conferences, namely the International Conference on Biosciences and Medical Engineering (ICBME) in 2019 and ICBME 2023, both of which have significantly enriched the academic discourse within the world university.

UNUD’s commitment to fostering international collaboration and attracting researchers has materialized in the form of securing international research grant. Professor Fahrul Huyop has been awarded a grant amounting to IDR 238,333,333. This grant is a testament to UNUD’s dedication to advancing research and its confidence in the ability of international researchers to contribute to the academic and scientific community in Bali, Indonesia. Professor Fahrul’s appointment as a Senior Fellow under the UNISERF program is a testament to his outstanding achievements and UNUD’s commitment to advancing research and engaging with the global academic community.
