Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) had successfully organized the International Conference on Japan’s Agriculture & Food Technology and Innovation (IJAF 2022) from 22nd to 24th February 2022.
It was officiated by the Director of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Pagoh Campus, Prof. Ts. Dr. Safian Sharif.
The IJAF 2022 was funded by Toshiba International Foundation and supported by Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), Malaysian Ministry of Tourism, and Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT).
The main objective of the conference was to facilitate the exchange of authoritative views by leading researchers, as well as industrial leaders, focusing on Food and Nutrition Security, Sustainable Agriculture, Agritechnology & Innovation and Rice Cultivation.
IJAF 2022 put together an engaging programme, including keynote speeches from Prof. Hiroshi Nabetani and Prof. Kazuei Ishii from Japan, Prof. Jiří Jaromír Klemeš from Czech Republic, Prof. Sheng Zhou from China, Prof. Jean W. H. Yong from Sweden and Dr. Kamolchanok Umnajkitikorn from Thailand.
Exciting talks were also given by distinguished invited speakers and presenters from all around the world.
The conference had a total of 22 oral and poster presenters. It attracted more than 300 participants for both conference and post-conference workshop, with participants from various countries, universities, government agencies, and industries working in the field of food and agriculture.
It also had provided an engaging platform to connect researchers, promote scientific debate, and foster potential collaboration among researchers and industrial practitioners in the field.
In addition, a post-conference knowledge transfer workshop was held on 24th February 2022.
The workshop managed to attract numerous local communities to learn about the application of compost and biofertilizer.
It was delivered by both academicians, researchers, and industry players from UTM, Mentari Alam Eko (M) Sdn. Bhd. and EMRO Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.
