On 26th November 2021, the students from SPPP4012-03 conducted an e-service learning programme in collaboration with Tuanku Chancellor English Language Club, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (TCELC, UTM).

This programme lasted for 18 days, starting from 26th November to 13th December 2021 and was conducted under the supervision of Mr. Shahrin Hashim and Dr. Roslizam Hassan.

Participants did not have to pay any registration fees if they would like to join the programme.

During pre-registration, there were 106 participants. 63 of them were the public, including high school students, mostly based in Johor.

Based on the ethnicity of the participants, the programme managed to get multiracial participants: Malay, Chinese, and Indian.

The opening ceremony was held on Google Meet and Facebook Live, through the English Camp official Facebook page.

During the opening ceremony, participants were given briefs rules and regulations of the programme.

Participants were given time from 4th until 11th December 2021 to submit their submission through TikTok stitch video and using #EnglishCamp2021.

On 12th December, the judging period started.

The judges managed to pick nine winners based on three language levels: beginner level, intermediate level, and advanced level.

Each category has three winners and one special winner was chosen based on the most likes on TikTok.

Closing Ceremony

The closing ceremony was held on 13th December, inaugurated by Dr. Roslizam Hassan.

It was such a lively and successful event attended by 36 participants. All winners were announced during the closing ceremony.

The organizers received positive feedback from participants who stated that they will definitely participate in such programs in the future.

The objectives of the programme were successfully achieved.

This programme involved the participation of students in English awareness regardless of their educational background.

Also, the participants were given the opportunity to widen their knowledge, talent and project it in a healthy way.

Besides, this programme encourages inclusivity with the involvement of both genders in all the subcategories.

There were no gender bias in this event as all participants were provided with the same window of opportunity to expand their career and higher education aspects with the experience gained from this all-inclusive programme.
