Two teams from the School of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, have won two medals in Congress and Innovation Competition in Teaching and Learning (kNovasi2021) organized by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. The kNovasi2021 was held virtually for two days, from 17 to 18 August 2021. The competition, which aimed to form new ideas in the education sector through innovation, was participated by academics from institutions throughout Malaysia.  Assoc. Prof. Dr. Musa Mohd Mokji, who is the main inventor of a project entitled Integrated Capstone Online Data Entry System (iCODES), co-invented with Dr. Lim Cheng Siong, Dr. Suhana Mohamed Sultan, Dr. Rashidah Arsat and Ts. Dr. Zulkarnain Ahmad Noorden, have won 2nd place under the Alternative Assessment/Programmatic Assessment and Evaluation track. The team also received a Gold medal with a RM750.00 cash prize. The challenges faced by the education sector due to the COVID -19 pandemic do not prevent lecturers from continuing to innovate in teaching and learning. The second team from SKE led by Ts. Dr. Mastura Shafinaz Zainal Abidin won a Bronze medal under Emerging Technologies in Borderless Learning track. The team, which was also joined by Ts. Dr. Zaharah Johari, has shared innovations in teaching using augmented reality in helping to increase students’ understanding of the topic of transistors. Teaching innovations that have been applied by Ts. Dr. Mastura Shafinaz for two semesters have been proven to increase students’ motivation in teaching and learning. Virtual participation in kNovasi2021 has given much input to the lecturers on improving the quality of teaching.
