Bioinformatics Symposium ’21 or better known as BioSym ’21 was a program organized by Persatuan Mahasiswa Sains Komputer (PERSAKA) on March 6th, 2021. The program was streamed online through PERSAKA Facebook Live.

An expert speaker from Novocraft Technologies who is also a UTM graduate, Mr. Farhan Mohd Tahir, was invited to share his insights on the future of Bioinformatics field and also his working experience as a Bioinformatics Programmer.

Among topics that had been shared during the program was the background of Novocraft Technologies which includes their products, services and job opportunities. Mr. Farhan also shared his working experience with Novocraft Technologies and his contribution for this field.

Through this program, Mr. Farhan also touched upon his expertise in Bioinformatics field with DNA Sequencing, Bioinformatics pipeline and case study related to the field. Mr. Farhan also provided BioSym’21 audiences with information on future in Bioinformatics and the required skills they should further master and develop.

Since the program was held virtually, the audiences were able to leave their questions during Q&A session in the comment section of the Facebook Live.

Last but not least, President of PERSAKA, Muhammad Akmal Hisham was invited to give a closing speech for BioSym ‘21. All in all, BioSym ’21 was considered successful and wrapped up smoothly with 263 participants which exceed the target views of 100 participants.
