JOHOR BAHRU – From March 12th to March 14th 2020, the Jawantakuasa Kolej Mahasiswa (JKM) Kolej Tun Dr. Ismail (KTDI) has successfully held a program called the Resak Islamic Day or better known as REID’20. Resak Islamic Day 2020 (ReID’20) program is a program that provides a platform for all levels of students and the community who want to cultivate and strengthen the nature of “Ad-deen” as well as hone the talents hidden in each individual student and community. This program also an Islamic event that can be enjoyed with a variety other religions. The program aims to create a clean, vibrant student and help their respective religions preach in a relaxed and chill while showing the beautifulness of Al-Quran language and beauty in Islam.

On March 12, the first evening of REID’20, Majlis Iftar was organized to mark the opening of REID’20. Majlis iftar was done inside the KTDI main hall, Dewan Sri Resak, where the Muslim student was invited. This activity gathers around 200 students. In meanwhile, many booths were opened in Dataran Resak and many items were sold at the booths.

After isya’ prayers, the forum activity is Sembang Harmoni which discusses about “Love Langguage” held at Dewan Sri Resak, Kolej Tun Dr. Ismail. Among the invited panel present in this forum program is Dr. Jaysuman Bin Pusppanathan (School of Biomedical & Health Sciences), Dr. Tan Joo Siang (School of Social Sciences and Humanities) and Ustaz Mohd Nasir Bin Masrom (Deputy Director of Islamic Centre, UTM). This forum received a very encouraging response from the students, administrators and the surrounding community who attend the activity. Relaxing presentations from panel members make it easy for guests to understand with the presentations they shared. It provides a lot of input and teaching especially to nowadays youth. The advice shared was very helpful.

So in a nutshell, the activity on the first day of ReID’20 was able to run smoothly and successfully even though at this time our country is currently undergoing a pandemic COVID-19.
