The International Webinar Series on Computational Fluid Dynamics 2020 (IWSCFD 2020) was successfully organized by two research groups which are Fluid Mechanics and Industrial and Scientific Computation from the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).  This programme was organised from 1st to 3rd September 2020 through Webex online platform and directed by Dr. Mohammad Faisal Mohd Basir.

This programme offered new experience  by focusing on Computational Fluid Dynamics, Nanofluid, Application of Fractional Derivatives in Nanofluid and Blood Flow, Pseudo-Spectral Methods, Mathematical Model of Fluid Flow, Boundary Layer, Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian and MATLAB BVP4C Function. This webinar’s goals were to encourage researchers to learn fluid dynamics, seek collaboration opportunities, and develop new skills.

In this webinar, nine expert speakers  from various organizations and universities were invited to share their knowledge pertaining to their research areas. Three of the invited speakers were from the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Science, UTM ; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sharidan Shafie, Dr. Mohammad Faisal Mohd Basir and an excellent Ph.D. student, Mr. Muhammad Saqib.

The other invited speakers were Prof. Dr. Rozaini Roslan from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn (UTHM),  Dr. Kohilavani Naganthran from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Dr. Mohamad Nur Hidayat Mat from Hexagon Measurement Technologies Sdn. Bhd.

Meanwhile, international speakers involved were Dr. Vusi Mpendulo Magagula from the University of Eswatini, Africa, Dr. Osama Maklad from Mansoura University, Egypt and Dr. B. Mahanthesh from CHRIST (Deemed to be a University), India.

This webinar successfully gathered researchers around the world with 49 participations from various universities including UTM, UPM, USM, UKM, UPNM, UMP, INTI International University, UMS, UniMAP, UniSZA, UiTM, INSTITUT MATEMATIK KEJURUTERAAN (IMK), Maulana Azad National Urdu, IES ACADEMY OF MATHEMATICS, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, and the Central University of Himachal Pradesh. This webinar’s success was greatly attributed to  the committee members’ commitment  to seeing the smooth running of the programme.
