6th August 2020 – Three of MJIIT academicians and researchers, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud El-Sayed Nasef, Dr. Uswah bt. Khairuddin and Dr. Mohd Fitri Bin Mohd Yakub have successfully secured the JICA COVID-19 Project Grant 2020 International Research Fund for their research related to the current coronavirus disease. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud El-Sayed Nasef, Dr. Uswah bt. Khairuddin and Dr. Mohd Fitri Bin Mohd Yakub received grants worth RM60,000.00 each.

 

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud El-Sayed Nasef from the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering (ChEE), focuses on Antimicrobial Fabric Enabled by Iminodiacetic Acid Chelated Cu Nanoparticles for Protection Against Droplet and Airborne Pathogens for the funded research.

 

Representing the Department of Electronic System Engineering (ESE), Dr. Mohd Fitri Bin Mohd Yakub’s research focuses on A Smart Sensor Network System for Prevention Contamination of COVID-19 in Office Buildings.

From the Department of Mechanical Precision Engineering (MPE), Dr. Uswah bt. Khairuddin focuses on UV-C Disinfection Device for Public Touch Screen Machines for her research.

We would like to congratulate the three aforementioned academicians from MJIIT for securing international research funds of the JICA COVID-19 project grant 2020. We wish a successful implementation and completion of the researches, as well as successful attributions on the recovery momentum of the ongoing pandemic. おめでとうございます Omedetō gozaimasu!
