Kuala Lumpur: The Covid-19 pandemic has brought new challenges to academia worldwide since the teaching and learning process goes fully online. Scoping with online teaching and learning tools is another challenge faced by the lecturers, which includes unfamiliarity and lack of confidence to use these tools.

To address these challenges, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH) initiated a series of Online Learning Clinic for FSSH KL staff from 1 April to 24 April 2020. The objectives of the clinic are to create awareness, instill confidence, and empower the staff with relevant online teaching and learning tools.

The clinic was facilitated by Dr. Nurhasmiza Abu Hasan Sazalli and Dr. Wan Nur Asyura Wan Adnan. The Online Clinic Module developed by the facilitators focused on three levels – Synchronous Teaching & Learning (L1) (e.g., Introduction to Zoom, Webex, Big Blue Button, Generating QR Code for Attendance), Asynchronous Teaching & Learning (L2) – (e.g., Using Screencast-o-Matic, Quiz, and Assignments on E-Learning),  and Online Quiz Tools (L3) (Using Quizziz, Kahoot, EdPuzzle, H5P and Google Form 101). The trends and data collected from this clinic yielded insightful findings on lecturers’ readiness for online teaching which will be published in the future.
