Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) delegates  comprise  of Prof. Dr. Nor Haniza Sarmin, Associate Director (Global Strategy and Engagement), Mr. Ahmad Hilman Borhan, Manager (International Relations) from UTM International and Dr. Fauzan Khairi Che Harun, Senior Lecturer from Faculty of Engineering, are currently attending the QS Apple 2019 Annual Conference in Fukuoka, Japan. The conference is being held in Japan for the very first time and is organized by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) — an international agency that is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the university achievements and rankings around the world — in collaboration with Kyushu University. The event has attracted more than 1,000 delegates from universities and higher learning institutions from all over the world.

In addition to providing a venue for creating new relationships and strengthening existing partnerships with participants from other universities, this conference serves as a platform for university members to share their best practices with other participants in internationalization, rankings, student & staff mobility, and more. Dr. Fauzan Khairi presented a paper entitled  ‘Enriching student mobility by exploring the challenges of 100-year life’ at this conference.

Based on the latest QS World University Ranking, UTM is now ranked among the Top 50 best universities in Asia and Top 20 for universities under 50 years old. With UTM’s participation in t QS Apple 2019 Annual Conference, we hope that these numbers will keep soaring.
