UTM International under the Global Education & Experience unit had successfully organized the first ever The World Singing Day event at UTM Azman Hashim Stadium, UTM Johor Bahru on 19 October 2019.  The event was participated by almost 500 UTM students, both local and international, along with the UTM Global Buddies.

The World Singing Day is the global sing-along for everyone. It’s the 8th this year, held annually each year on the 3rd Saturday in October. Via this program, people from all over the world will gather in groups of all sizes to sing all kinds of songs.  This program aims to encourage people to put aside their differences and celebrate what we all share as human beings, to reflect Unity in Diversity.

The program began with the welcoming remarks from the representative of Pro – Vice Chancellor (International), UTM International , Prof. Dr. Nor Haniza Sarmin. In her speech, she expressed her hope for UTM International to continue this kind of activities as part of our total campus experience and Internationalisation at Home agenda (I@H).

After the speech, the singers began the sing-along session with the theme song of the event – Till the Whole World Sings, followed by song of the year, Twist and Shout by The Beatles and We Will Rock You by Queen. Not only the singing session, there was also dancing movement designated according to respective songs by the buddies where the students can simply follow and enjoy themselves.

After the singing session, all of the participants gathered for the formation of I AM UTM  photo session.
