The ASEAN Student Forum 2019 (ASF’19) is a four-day international forum for youth and top intellectuals from leading Universities and Colleges within the ASEAN and East Asia region. UTP-ASEAN Student Association (UTP-ASA) organises the forum annually and focuses on reinforcing the ASEAN identity by creating a platform for discussions dealing with the implications of the ASEAN Integration Initiative. The forum discusses and deliberates themes and topics dealing with the changes, issues and effects brought about by the ASEAN Plus Three (APT) Cooperation.

The fourth edition of ASF had the theme entitled ‘Advancing Partnership for Sustainability’. It presented the challenges faced by ASEAN in three areas – cybersecurity, STEM human capital, and waste management.

Dr. Corrienna was invited to share her knowledge of STEM with the forum participants. Speaking of STEM Human Capital, she stressed how to empower the STEM human capital through partnership and sustainability. Her session included a hands-on activity that encourages students’ thinking and empowers the 21st century skills that are sorely needed in the STEM human capital. Dr. Corrienna also shared her research findings on the STEM impact on students’ attitude, motivation and interest in the STEM field through one of her CREATE modules.
