UNIVERSITY OF TSUKUBA & MJIIT: MARKING A PROFESSIONAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN 2 NATIONS

University of Tsukuba (UT), Japan is one of the 29 Japanese Universities collaborating with Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT) that is strongly supporting the Look East Policy throughout the years.

A total of 32 students from UT have visited MJIIT since 2014 to 2016, and have digested the i-Kohza and Senpai-Kohai concepts (read our previous posts on our i-Kohzas and the Senpai-Kohai concepts). The year 2015 saw the 2nd batch of UT students staying in MJIIT under the ASEAN International Mobility for Students (AIMS) programme. In addition, a few Global Future Experts in Science and Technology (GFEST) from UT also dropped by to conduct experiments and gave presentations at selected iKohzas.

In 2016, 16 UT students were in MJIIT for another visit while 12 students stayed for the GFEST event in 2017. The latest inbound students from UT was via the Joint-Degree-Program (JDP) in 2019 and these are students from UT starting their 1st semester in MJIIT on the 26th June 2019.

Not only do UT students stay in MJIIT for academic visits, they were also attached to MJIIT via joint-supervision efforts (at the postgraduate levels) and special internship programmes.

MJIIT students also get to learn in UT via special programmes and scholarships (and internships) such as the Sakura Exchange Program in Science and many other scholarships offered from time to time.

MJIIT is proud to earn the trust and relationship of University of Tsukuba Japan, and is working hard along with UT to build and sustain a better world.
