A Letter of Cooperation (LOC) was signed between UTM and Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar on Thursday 14 February 2019, which covered the potential of cooperation between the two universities in the areas of student and staff exchange, collaboration of information and publication, collaborative research activities and teaching programmes, and supervisory and seminar cooperation. The signing of the LOC marks UTM’s openness to collaboration and willingness to build bridges in the worlds of academia and industry, in line with UTM’s Global Plan.

The signed document was delivered from UTM to Makassar by hand by Dr Abdullah Mohd Nawi, the Assistant Dean (External & Global Engagement) of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH), UTM, where Dr Abdullah also delivered a guest lecture on High Impact Communication, specifically in the ways with which to build engagement and trust. The guest lecture was the first of many collaborative programmes under the LOC, and highlighted FSSH’s expertise in communication training, as well as cross-cultural communication, which are embedded as part of its offerings in its University programmes of study, short courses, and consultation.
Present in the guest lecture and the signing ceremony were Vice Chancellor II Dr. Andi Sukri Syamsuri, Deputy Chancellor IV Ir H Saleh Molla, Director of Graduate Studies, Dr. Darwis Muhdina, Deputy I of PPs Unismuh, Dr. Andi Jam’an, Assistant II of PPs Unismuh, Dr. Muhlis Madani. Also present were Head of Unismuh KUI, Dr. Bahrun Amin, Dean of FKIP, Dr. Erwin Akib, and a number of former deans of Unismuh officials, lecturers and Postgraduate students.
