Johor Bahru, 15 Nov. – IJN-UTM Cardiovascular Engineering Centre, a research centre under the Institute of Human Centered Engineering (iHumEn; previously known as IHCE) has welcomed a visit from HID Global Sdn Bhd to the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Lab. Thanks to Dr. Noor Asniza Murad from the School of Electrical Engineering, who has been working hard to arrange for the visit.
IJN-UTM Cardio Centre was represented by its Director, Dr. Ahmad Zahran, accompanied by Mr. Akmal Ayob, Research Officer and Mr. Azren Azrey, Assistant Science Officer. Meanwhile, Dr. Jaysuman from the School of Biomedical Engineering and Health Sciences, was also present to introduce the EMC lab facility at V01 Building .
HID Global is a multinational company with businesses in Banking, Education, Healthcare, Sport & Transportation. HID Global Sdn Bhd which is based in Kulai however, is focusing on RFID, radio-frequency identification which uses electromagnetic fields to automatically identify and track tags attached to objects.
R&D in electronic devices compliance to electromagnetic standards is one of the areas that has been discussed and we are looking forward for future collaboration. Since EMC is an emerging technology in E&E sector, the requirement to comply with EMC standards has become more significant world wide. The establishment of EMC lab at UTM since December 2014 has been a strategic action to address the needs in Malaysia and Singapore as well as Indonesia.
