ATSA Architects and UTM Seal Agreement for Publication Cooperation in the Field of Architecture

JOHOR BAHRU, 7 December 2015 – A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) has been signed between the UTM Centre for the Study of Built Environment in the Malay World (UTM KALAM) with ATSA Architects Sdn. Bhd, a leading architectural firm in Malaysia, to document the architecture of heritage mosques in Malaysia.
The MoA was signed by Prof. Dr. Muhd Zaimi Abdul Majid, Senior Director of the Institute for Smart Infrastructure and Innovative Construction (ISIIC) as the representative of UTM, while ATSA Architects was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Ar Azim Tan Sri Aziz.
Cooperation between UTM KALAM and ATSA Architects was intended to meet the needs for continuous research and publication in the field of architecture.
The scope of cooperation contained in the agreement include writing and publishing articles on the legacy of 13 heritage mosques in Malaysia with historical and architectural value, namely Masjid Jamek Kuala Lumpur, Sultan Alauddin Mosque in Banting, Selangor, Kampung Parit Masjid Mosque and Undang Kamat Mosque in Negeri Sembilan, as well as  Kampung Hulu Mosque and Masjid Kampung Keling in Melaka, Masjid Jame’ Mosque of Sultan Ibrahim and Sultan Abu Bakar in Johor Bahru, Masjid Kampung Laut in Perak, Taiping Old Malay Mosque, Masjid Mosque Board and High-Bagan Serai, Perak ,
Collaboration between ATSA Architects Sdn. Bhd. and UTM KALAM in fact started in 2013.
It is hoped that this cooperation will continue to produce more publication on the architectural heritage in Malaysia.
