GCRF Water Security and Sustainable Development Hub: Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) and Theory of Change (TOC) Workshop

GCRF Water Security & Sustainable Development Hub Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) and Theory of Change (TOC) Workshop was with the aim to develop clarity around the intended results of Malaysia collaboratory, which is central to enabling good project management.The workshop was intended to assist Malaysia collaboratory reflection on Theory of  Change in relation to a particular water security issue. The workshop is considered a great success, as all participants learnt new knowledge on TOC and MEL.

GCRF Introductory Workshops with Stakeholders of Sg. Johor River Basin

Recently, the Centre of Environmental Sustainability and Water Security (IPASA), UTM had successfully organised two Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) Introductory Workshops aimed to introduce the recently awarded GCRF project to the stakeholders of Sg. Johor River Basin. Both workshops were held at Hotel Impiana, Senai, Johor. The first introductory workshop was held on 18th of June, attended by various federal and state government agencies, private agencies and academicians. The second workshop was held on the 25th of June attended by various environment and water related NGOs, local community representatives (i.e.: Penghulu, Ketua Kampung, Tok Batin Orang Asli, and Wakil Persatuan Nelayan). The participants were full of enthusiasm and actively involved themselves in the group discussions. Plenty of on-ground knowledge and experiences were shared among the participants. Both workshops ended at 4.30 pm with a closing remark by the principal investigator.

First time visit by Prof Ramaraj Boopathy, a Fulbright Senior Specialist to a Malaysian university. Engagement with five PTJs where Prof Boopathy delivered six seminars and two publication workshops. Trip to UTM fully sponsored by Fulbright USA

SKA won 2 gold medals in ITEX 2019

Civil Engineering Festival 2019

The Civil Engineering Festival (CEF) program is a program implemented at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). The CEF is one of the mediums to raise the quality of the students by holding interesting matches especially in writing and consultancy skills as well as raising the students’ high level of thinking. that program can train and give details to students on the development of soft skills.

Round Table Discussion on Planning For High-Impact, Synergized, UTM Engineering Research Programmes to Support United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals

a round table discussion was conducted by Faculty of Engineering (FE) at the Main Hall, Talent Transformation Center, UTM Johor Bahru, Johor on 12th of March 2019 to align the research programs at FE towards United Nation’s SDG. More than 50 head of the research groups and academic staff attended the round table discussion.
