A Successful First Non Academic Workshop On Management Of Research Institutes Between Institute Of Bioproduct Development (IBD) Universiti Teknologi Malaysia And Shizuoka University, Japan

This workshop is programmed to run as an annual event between non-academic staff in both UTM and SZU alternatively. This will help to implement the learning organizational culture of all levels. The host institute also contributed in the program technically and financially by sponsoring the accommodation for the delegates. The same program is scheduled to be held in the third quarter of 2019 and IBD will be the host.

Northwest A&F University, China Visit UTM Kuala Lumpur

Among the topics discussed were student mobility, summer school program, student exchange, and possible collaboration with UTM SPACE on professional and continuing education, staff attachment and invitation for teaching.

UTM’s Lam Ming Quan: A PhD YK scholar had his research internship at University of York, UK

Mr. Lam Ming Quan, a PhD student under sponsorship of Yayasan Khazanah (YK), from Department of Biosciences, Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia did his research internship twice at the Centre for Novel Agricultural Products (CNAP), Department of Biology, University of York, United Kingdom (Nov – Dec 2017 & Jun – Jul 2018). His research is one of the main projects under an international collaboration: Newton Fund (UK-SEA-NUOF). As the main aim of the Newton Fund is to build the capacity and capabilities of Malaysians in terms of scientific research, Lam is supervised by experienced researchers from both universities.
