The 7th International Conference and Workshops on Basic and Applied Sciences 2019 (ICOWOBAS 2019) was successfully held on 14-17 July 2019 at KSL Resorts and Hotel, Johor Bahru. ICOWOBAS is a biennial event between Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), Indonesia and Salahaddin University, Iraq, which has been organized since 2007. Launching of the Taiwan-Malaysia Innovation Centre for Clean Water and Sustainable Energy (WISE Centre) at UTM

Launching of WISE Centre at UTM was held on 24 April 2019, with NTHU represented by the Senior Vice President Prof. Sinn-Wen Chen and Prof. Ruey-An Doong, while UTM was represented by the then Pro-Vice Chancellor (International) Prof. Dr. Nordin Yahaya. Prof. Chen and Prof. Nordin also officiated WISE Centre office, to be used by NTHU visiting professors and researchers on academic and research exchange.

GCRF Water Security & Sustainable Development Hub Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) and Theory of Change (TOC) Workshop was with the aim to develop clarity around the intended results of Malaysia collaboratory, which is central to enabling good project management.The workshop was intended to assist Malaysia collaboratory reflection on Theory of  Change in relation to a particular water security issue. The workshop is considered a great success, as all participants learnt new knowledge on TOC and MEL.

UTM and RunCloud shine at MDEC Digital Premier Tech IHL announcement

MaGIC Cyberjaya, 17 June 2019 – UTM continues to be selected to be amongst the Premier Digital Tech Institutions. The Premier Digital Tech Institutions initiative was jointly developed by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) in 2017, to produce top talents and future leaders not only in digital technologies but other industries such as manufacturing and agriculture. This year, 11 universities and five polytechnics were awarded the recognition of Premier Digital Tech Universities (UTM, UM, UITM, UIA, MMU, Taylors University, APU, Sunway University, TARC, UTAR, dan HELP University) and Premier Digital Polytechnics respectively, placing them as top institutions of higher learnings that can deliver first-class theoretical and practical training.
