Embracing Industrial Revolution 4.0: Project of third year students from the School of Mechanical Engineering in Mechatronics Challenge 2019

Mechatronics Challenge 2019 was organized by SKMM 3252 (Mechatronics) lecturers on 11th May 2019 at E07, School of Mechanical Engineering. Participated by 197 third year Mechanical Engineering students as well as 3 secondary schools in Johor. Amongst the judges were lecturers from SKE, SKM and also industry representative from Dyson Manufacturing and TDK Electronics.

URC 2019 showcased 151 undergraduates projects

A total of 17 best theme awards have been given away by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Ir. Dr Wahid Omar to the best projects and this year the three URC special awards were being won by Muhammad Atiqi Mustapa from Faculty of Build Environment and Surveying (FABU), Mohammad Al-Fattah (School of Computing, Faculty of Engineering) and Rosezalvia Dennis (School of Education, Faculty of Social Science and Humanities).
The Champion of the 3MFYP category was Anamira Zakaria from the School of Computing, Faculty of Engineering.

The 2nd Language and Communication Postgraduate International Seminar, LCPIS

The Second (2nd) Language and Communication Postgraduates International Seminar (LCPIS) was organized successfully by the Post Graduates Students’ Society of Language Academy (PGSS LA). The seminar was directed by Mr. Mohammad Ali Moslehifar, an LA PhD candidate together with his team guided and advised by the PGSS LA advisor, Dr. Aminabibi Bte Saidalvi. The 2nd LCPIS is a continuation of the seminar organized by LA in 2017. This seminar however has received participations not only from UTM students but from other universities around the world, with the total of 84 papers with various interesting topics. The uniqueness of this seminar is the inclusion of skype presentation alongside live presentation through parallel sessions. All presentations were properly monitored and assessed by experienced lecturers. At the end of the seminar, 3 best paper presenters as well as best skype presenters were selected. This one-day seminar is seen as an effort to prepare for a platform were great ideas were shared through intellectual discussions amongst students and lecturers. Some remarks from the participants and committees of the seminar:“The effort to organize such seminar is commendable. Congrats organizers!”“Participating in this kind of seminar will allow you to get more comments from expert about your research and it is very useful for improvement. I can say this is a good way to start my PhD journey and I’m so glad to participate in this seminar.”“This is my second time presenting in an international seminar. The comments were very useful. Definitely will attend more of this.”“Being the participant and the committee at the same time has taught me a lot. I gained very much through this seminar. Sharing of ideas and discussions with fellow PhD candidates were indeed something that I anticipated because you can better your research through such sharing. I’m so happy it’s done now.”
