UTM Secured USD 14K of Regional Conference Grant from AUN/SEED-Net

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) had successfully secured the international funding support to organise a Regional Conference under the field of Environmental Engineering namely as the jointly Regional Congress on Membrane Technology 2020 (RCOM2020) and Regional Conference in Environmental Engineering (RCEnvE) 2020. This conference is chaired by Associate Professor Dr. Juhana Jaafar from Advanced Membrane Technology Research Centre (AMTEC), School of Chemical and Energy Engineering, UTM. The conference will be held on 26th August 2020 till 27th August 2020 at Royal Widad Residence@UTMKL, Kuala Lumpur.

AMTEC team won Grand Prize and Special Award at SIIF 2019

The Advanced Membrane Technology Research Center (AMTEC) researchers won the Grand Prize and King Abdulaziz University Special Award at the Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF) in Seoul, Korea, on 30 November 2019.

196 PARTICIPANTS INVOLVED IN UTM MYTREE SUMMER SCHOOL (SS16) OG-X 2019 AT SCEE

School of Chemical & Energy Engineering (SCEE) had successfully hosted 191 students and 5 lecturers from Akamigas Polytechnic of Palembang for Summer School: Oil & Gas Learning Experience (OG-X) 2019. This is in fact the second year of the same program was conducted, following the success of 2018’s Summer School and in 2019 OG-X was conducted in collaboration with Advanced Membrane Technology Research Centre (AMTEC) to also expose the participants to research activities in SCEE.

AMTEC’s Membrane made Headline

Membrane technology, the golden goose egg of AMTEC is getting more and more recognition from national and international level for its promising potential for the prosperity of mankind. Recently, as reported by the Malaysian mainstream media UTUSAN newspaper, AMTEC research team consisted of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hafiz and members have successfully produced clean drinking water extracted from seawater by using their special membrane distillation system.

AMTEC Lecturers Conferred 2018 MASS Young Researcher Award

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Hafiz Dzarfan Bin Othman and Dr. Mukhlis bin A Rahman seized the 2018 Malaysian Solid State Science and Technology Society (MASS) Young Researcher Awards for their outstanding achievements and contributions in solid state science and technology .
