Also present was Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy, Chief Executive Officer of Batik Air and a UTM alumnus, who delivered an inspiring account of his personal and professional journey. His sharing resonated with students, offering valuable insights on resilience, leadership, and the importance of perseverance in navigating both academic and career pathways.

The presence of several distinguished guests further elevated the significance of the evening, creating a platform that brought together students, alumni, and industry leaders under one roof.

Organised entirely by students, the PMH Gala Night 2025 showcased the leadership, initiative, and organisational capabilities of the UTM student community. The event was led by Programme Director Nivehthaa Vikneshmaran, a second-year Mechanical Precision Engineering student, supported by Deputy Programme Director Kaveetiran A/L Sitambaram, a second-year Artificial Intelligence Engineering student. Administrative matters were overseen by Sivagami Rekha Sharma, a final-year Diploma in Computer Science student. Together, the student leadership team demonstrated commendable teamwork, creativity, and resilience in delivering a successful event.

The organising committee received guidance and support from programme advisors Ts. Dr. Sathiabama T. Thirugnana and Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Shreeshivadasan Chelliapan, whose mentorship played an important role in steering the planning and execution of the programme.

Despite facing limited resources and earlier challenges related to student representation, the organising team delivered a memorable evening. Highlights of the gala included cultural performances, an award ceremony, interactive games, creative photo booths, and thoughtfully prepared door gifts, all of which contributed to the warm and engaging atmosphere of the celebration.

The event also reflected UTM’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity, with participation from Indian, Malay, and Chinese students, embodying the university’s core values of unity, mutual respect, and harmonious coexistence.

The PMH Gala Night 2025 stands as a testament to perseverance, collaboration, and student-led excellence, demonstrating that passion and collective effort can overcome even the most challenging circumstances.

“This gala night represents more than just a celebration; it is the result of months of hard work, collaboration, and resilience,” said Nivehthaa Vikneshmaran, Programme Director of PMH Gala Night 2025. “I am truly grateful to my team, our advisors, and all sponsors who believed in us.
