JOHOR BAHRU, 16th September 2013: A team from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) won second runner-up in the 2nd Engineering Invention and Innovation Exhibition (EINIX) at Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
The team members are Dr.Yeong Che Fai, Dr.Eileen Su Lee Ming, Khor Kang Xiang, Patrick Chin Jun Hua and Hisyam bin Abdul Rahman. They team presented a novel robot to assist in rehabilitation for stroke patients. The device has virtual reality game and haptic sensation attracted many crowds including children.
EINIX is a competition that challenges talents in ASEAN to propose inventions related to Engineering Commercialization. It requires participants to generate invention or innovation that involve inter disciplines of Engineering in attempting to further enhance commercializing the engineering concept to greater heights and broader region not only in ASEAN region but globally.
They brought home cash prize RM1000, certificates and medals presented by Menteri Besar of the State of Selangor, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim in 1 Utama shopping centre yesterday. The team would like to thank Innovation and Commercialization Centre (ICC) and UTM for providing full support in this project.
