ICA UTM Co-Organizes ICABB 2025 in Konya, Türkiye

KONYA, Sept 7 – The Innovation Centre in Agritechnology for Advanced Bioprocessing (ICA), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), has successfully co-organized the 9th International Congress on Advances in Bioscience and Biotechnology (ICABB) 2025, hosted by Konya Food and Agriculture University in Türkiye. The four-day congress took place in Konya, the historic city of Jalaluddin Rumi, and was conducted in a hybrid format, combining physical and virtual participation to reflect the evolving dynamics of international academic collaboration.

The congress served as a vibrant platform for scientists, academicians, and industry experts to share cutting-edge research findings, discuss global challenges, and explore innovative solutions in the fields of bioscience and biotechnology. With participants representing various countries across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, the event underscored the importance of cross-border cooperation in addressing pressing issues such as sustainable agriculture, food security, healthcare innovation, and environmental sustainability.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Prof. Dr. rer. Nat. Hesham Ali Metwally Ali El-Enshasy, Director of ICA UTM and Chairman of ICABB 2025, who welcomed participants and highlighted the congress as a vital avenue for knowledge sharing and networking. His keynote orientation address was followed by distinguished presentations from UTM leaders, including Prof. Dr. Rosli Md Illias, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation), and Prof. Dr. Roshanida A. Rahman, Dean of the Health and Wellness Research Alliance (RA). Both speakers emphasized the significance of strengthening international partnerships and positioning UTM as a driver of impactful research and innovation.

ICA UTM made a strong presence at the congress, showcasing the breadth of expertise within the Centre. Oral presentations were delivered by Dr. Mohammad Nashriq Jalani, Dr. Afifah Taat, and Dr. Nardiah Rizwana Jaafar, who shared their latest findings in biosciences and biotechnology, ranging from microbial technology to health-related innovations. Complementing the in-person sessions, ICA researchers also participated actively in hybrid and online sessions, featuring contributions by ChM. Ts. Dr. Norliza Abdul Latiff, ChM. Nur Fashya Musa, Zulaikha Sarobo, Suhir Sulaiman, Hajar Aminah A. Karim, and Muhammad Zulhelmi Nazri.

The participation of ICA UTM in ICABB 2025 not only highlighted the Centre’s commitment to advancing scientific knowledge but also marked a strategic step in strengthening ties between Malaysia and Türkiye.
