JOHOR BAHRU, 11 June 2025 — Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) is proud to celebrate the success of four students from the Bachelor of Computer Science (Software Engineering) programme, Faculty of Computing, who won top prizes at the DHL Asia Pacific Shared Services Centre (APSSC) Digital Automation Challenge (DAC) 2.0.
Instead of using the usual hiring process, DHL APSSC created DAC 2.0 as a new and exciting way to find top talent for its special six-month internship programme. The challenge focused on Robotic Process Automation (RPA) using UiPath, giving students a real chance to show their skills in solving real-world problems.
The competition began with face-to-face briefings at UTM Kuala Lumpur and UTM Johor Bahru in April 2025. Students from both campuses joined and submitted their entries. After the official launch on 30 April, participants were given two weeks to complete a technical task created by DHL’s team.
From many entries, six finalists were chosen and all were from the Faculty of Computing, UTM Johor Bahru. They presented their solutions at the grand finale on 10 June 2025 at DHL Imazium, Petaling Jaya. UTM students impressed the judges with their creativity, technical skills, and clear thinking, and they took all the top three prizes:
-
Zuhayer Adnan Siddique – 1st Place (RM2,000 prize)
-
Rathan Rasi Muhammad – 2nd Place (RM1,000 prize)
-
Yap Deh Kai and Ahmed Mustafa Mohamed Ibrahim – 3rd Place (RM750 each)
More than just winning, all four students were offered exclusive internship placements at DHL, which come with a premium monthly allowance. This is a big opportunity for them to learn and grow in one of the world’s top logistics companies. This success shows that UTM students are smart, capable, and ready to meet industry needs. It also reflects UTM’s strong commitment to preparing students for the future through hands-on learning and partnerships with top global companies.
UTM thanks DHL APSSC for providing this great opportunity and appreciates the dedication of the lecturers and mentors who guided the students to success. Once again, UTM students have shown they are not only ready for the industry — they are leading the way.
