For the record, a total of 40 BRIN researchers have been pursuing their studies at UTM Johor Bahru since 2022 through a unique postgraduate program developed jointly by BRIN and UTM, which also involves contract research elements.

Early this year, the Minister of Higher Education, YB Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir, announced that in 2024, the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) will focus on five main areas: the provision of the nation’s best talents, strengthening the research and innovation ecosystem, implementing a new approach to knowledge transfer and sharing, internationalizing higher education, and enhancing the enabling ecosystem.

UTM is optimistic that the appointment of Dr. Laksana Tri Handoko and the launching of the UTM-BRIN satellite office at the FKE, UTM, will strengthen collaboration between the two institutions and the nation, aligning with the aspirations of MoHE.
