Designed to equip executives with a profound grasp of hydrogen technology, this transformative initiative is hosted at the TNB ILSAS Leadership Development Centre, nestled within the vibrant UNITEN Campus in Putrajaya. This marks the second session of the comprehensive 3-day training course for TNB executives, demonstrating TNB Genco’s unwavering commitment to driving Malaysia’s energy landscape toward a greener future.
Day 1: Unveiling Hydrogen’s Potential
Embarking on this journey on 15 August 2023, a distinguished panel including Prof. Dr. Arshad Ahmad, Dr. Mohd Fadhzir A. Kamaroddin, and Dr. Muhd Yusuf Shahul Hamid led participants through a spectrum of hydrogen-focused topics. The day’s discussions encompassed the intricate realms of hydrogen production, utilization, and safety protocols, laying the foundation for an energy revolution driven by innovation and sustainability.
This initiative holds a pivotal role within the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR). Collaborating with Petronas, TNB emerges as the champion for the Hydrogen for Power Flagship project. This collaborative endeavor focuses on decarbonizing gas turbine and coal power generation plants through the co-firing of green hydrogen and ammonia, amplifying the promise of a cleaner energy ecosystem.
Day 2: Advancing Expertise
On 16 August 2023, Wednesday, Dr. Tuan Amran Tuan Abdullah and Dr. Norafneeza Norazahar, accomplished experts, continued to guide participants through a deeper understanding of hydrogen’s practical applications. Delving into topics ranging from the versatile utility of hydrogen to its pivotal role in combustion, participants gained insights into the dynamic facets of this transformative energy source.
Day 3: Navigating Complexities and Hands-On Learning
The journey culminated on 17 August 2023, Thursday, with a distinguished panel including Prof. Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud Nasef, Dr. Tuan Amran Tuan Abdullah, Dr. Mohd Fadhzir A. Kamaroddin, Dr. Norafneeza Norazahar, and Dr. Muhd Yusuf Shahul Hamid leading the discussions. The spotlight on this day focused on hydrogen fuel cells, storage, and transportation – integral components of this energy evolution.
