Technology Use in Education Talk Highlights Online Assessments by Dr. Upasana Singh from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa

Kuala Lumpur, 3 July 2023: The Faculty of Social Sciences UTM Kuala Lumpur (FSSH UTM KL) recently organised a thought-provoking talk on the use of technology in education. Dr Upasana Singh, a renowned academic figure and senior lecturer from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa, spoke at the event, which took place at Dewan Seminar, Menara Razak, UTM KL.

With her insights into educational technology and its impact on the learning process, Dr Singh, an Information Systems and Technology expert, captivated the audience. The talk, which took place on Monday morning, was on the effective utilisation of online assessments focusing on using multiple-choice questions.

Dr Singh has been at the forefront of research on the transition to online learning during the pandemic as the Academic Leader and a Senior Lecturer in the discipline of Information Systems and Technology. Her research includes three conceptual models, each examining how academics, students, and women adjust to online learning. Dr Singh is a treasure of information with over 15 years of expertise teaching IT-related subjects like e-Commerce, IT Consulting, IT Strategy, Programming, and Research Methodology.

The event commenced with a warm welcome by Dr Zuhana Binti Mohamed Zin, Director of FSSH UTM KL. Dr Zuhana expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration between FSSH KL and the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, hoping to foster further partnerships in the future. Such collaborations can potentially enhance educational practices and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in both institutions.
