Innovating the Future: UTM and GFM Forge Strategic Alliance to Redefine Facilities Management

JOHOR BAHRU, 25th July – Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Global Facilities Management Sdn. Bhd. (GFM) have taken a significant stride towards fostering collaborative academic development, knowledge exchanges, and joint research projects by formalizing their strategic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today.

The MoU signing marks a momentous occasion, solidifying the commitment of both esteemed organizations to engage in various areas of collaboration, including academic development and research enhancement, internship and industry attachment, professional programs and seminars, collaborative teaching activities, research and publication, and product commercialization.

The distinguished ceremony saw the MoU being signed by UTM’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr. Rosli Md Illias and the Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of GFM, Tuan Haji Mohammad Shahrizal Mohammad Idris.

Esteemed dignitaries, including Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), Prof. Dr. Hishamuddin Mohd Ali; Dean, Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying, Prof. Dr. Sr Dr. Kherun Nita Ali; Chair of Business Management Division, Department of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Dr. Maimunah Sapri, and Director of the Centre for Real Estate Studies (CRES), Sr. Dr. Nurul Hana Adi Maimun, graced the event as witnesses.

“I am very pleased to witness the commitment of UTM and GFM to establish a closer collaboration and ties in the joint research program, teaching, consultation, knowledge transfer and community engagement, eventually lead to scholarly excellence in asset and facilities management,” said Prof. Rosli in his speech.

“We need the expertise of UTM researchers to structure the way of thinking and identify the potential of new technology to move forward in managing resources, ensuring effective assets and facilities management. UTM and GFM are enthusiastic about the boundless possibilities that lie ahead and are fully committed to exploring additional avenues of cooperation for mutual benefit in the future,” expressed Haji Mohammad Shahrizal.
