Johor Bharu, 17 June – Kolej Dato’ Onn Jaafar (KDOJ), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) hosted an exceptional event, the KDOJ Appreciation Dinner 2023 to honor the remarkable accomplishments of its students and staff while promoting unity and camaraderie within the KDOJ community. The highly anticipated program, led by Mr. Fahim Bin Rithwan, Assistant Fellow and Program Director at KDOJ, and under the guidance of Dr. Mohd Amri Bin Md Yunus, the Principal of KDOJ, was meticulously planned and executed.

The organizing committee, comprised of dedicated assistants and the Residential College Committee (RCC) led by President Mr.  Sathish Kumar Velayuthan, worked collaboratively to ensure the event’s smooth running and resounding success.

Esteemed guests in attendance included Mr. Azri Bin Hohad, Deputy Registrar at the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s Office (Student Affairs), who graced the occasion and represented the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s Office (Student Affairs). Additionally, staff members from the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s Office (Student Affairs) and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s Office (Development) at KDOJ, UTM GAMES 2022 athletes representing KDOJ, fellows, assistant fellows, members of the Residential College Committee, as well as local and international students residing in KDOJ, were present to celebrate this grand occasion.

During his opening speech, Dr. Mohd Amri conveyed his congratulations on the successful organization of the first post-COVID-19 appreciation program at KDOJ. He expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the award recipients and gratitude to the sponsors whose generous contributions ensured the smooth implementation and success of college programs and activities.

During hiapplauds Mr. Azri applauds the exceptional and distinguished nature of the event. He praised the fact that the male students of KDOJ had organized and carried out the entire event, emphasizing the college’s exclusive role as a residential college for men, accommodating students from various backgrounds, both local and international. He warmly congratulated the organizers, award winners, and sponsors for their remarkable contributions.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of awards in seven categories. The recipients encompassed KDOJ athletes who participated in the UTM GAMES 2022, sponsors, KDOJ fellows, assistant fellows, staff members from the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s Office (Student Affairs) and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s Office (Development) at KDOJ, members of the organizing committee, and the esteemed Dr. Abdul Halim Bin Zulkifli. Dr. Abdul Halim, a Senior Lecturer from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and a former fellow at KDOJ, received well-deserved recognition for his dedicated 28 years of service to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia before his retirement.

Furthermore, the event provided a platform for students to showcase their talents, infusing the atmosphere with a vibrant spirit and adding an extra dimension of entertainment and enjoyment.

As the event drew to a close, Mr. Fahim Bin Rithwan extended his heartfelt appreciation to all the guests for their presence and unwavering support, which significantly contributed to the resounding success of the KDOJ Appreciation Dinner 2023. He emphasized the importance of recognizing and appreciating the remarkable contributions of individuals within the college, inspiring everyone to continue striving for excellence and fostering a sense of unity within the KDOJ community.
