Study Melbourne Hub – A Hidden Victorian Gem In Kuala Lumpur

14 July 2022, Petaling Jaya – UTM International discovered a vibrant and friendly space alive with opportunities to experience Melbourne during a recent visit to the Study Melbourne Hub Kuala Lumpur. The Hub, which is located in the heart of Petaling Jaya at Jaya One, boasted fully equipped study areas and meeting rooms for students enrolled at Victorian institutions and respective alumni of Victorian education institutions. Students and alumni may bring their own devices and connect to the Hub’s Wi-Fi network to access online learning from Victorian education providers.

The Study Melbourne Hub Kuala Lumpur is part of the Victorian Government’s initiative to establish a network of study hubs around the world, boosting Victoria’s connections with future students and alumni. The Kuala Lumpur hub officially opened its doors in November 2021 and has served as a central location to obtain information and connect to resources on studying in Victoria, as well as a location to host events designed to enhance employment options, social connections, and student empowerment, including providing access to Study Melbourne programmes delivered virtually.

During the visit, the UTM International delegation led by Professor Nor Haniza Sarmin, Associate Director of Global Strategy & Engagement (GSE) discussed several opportunities for collaboration, including alumni and students mobility, with Victorian institutions already connected to UTM. The Hub also serves as the perfect place for information on why Melbourne is Australia’s best student city. UTM International looks forward to organising and hosting activities and events to support students and alumni from Victorian institutions.

The half-day visit was also attended by Assoc. Professor Dr Norhayati Abdullah, Associate Director and Ms Su Zalpha Mohamed, Manager at UTM International Kuala Lumpur.
